Terms & Conditions

By visiting or using Catawba County Released Inmates, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not accept every term, do not use the site or its search tools.

Catawba County Released Inmates is privately owned and has no affiliation with a government body, sheriff, jail, court, or corrections department. Neither this site nor its advertising partners offers consumer reports, private-investigation services, or FCRA-covered services for credit, employment, insurance, housing, or tenant screening. The site only helps visitors locate Catawba County and North Carolina inmate, jail, release, and supervision resources.

Nature of This Website

This is an independent reference site. It does not keep official jail, release, court, or correctional records and cannot confirm a custody status, release a person, post bond, or file a document with an agency.

Pages point readers toward resources operated by the Catawba County Sheriff, North Carolina courts, the Department of Adult Correction, federal agencies, and outside search providers.

Permitted Use Rules

You may browse the site only for lawful, respectful purposes. You agree that you will not:

  • Use the site while committing or assisting an unlawful act.
  • Use information to stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten anyone.
  • Rely on site content for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another regulated eligibility decision.
  • Attempt to enter accounts, servers, data, or functions without authorization.
  • Operate bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools against the site.
  • Interfere with service, security, or another visitor’s access.

No Consumer Reports

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services, and its advertising partners do not provide such services through this site. You agree not to use any site or linked-tool information for:

  • A decision to hire, fire, retain, or promote a worker.
  • Housing or tenant screening.
  • Creditworthiness, lending, or insurance-premium decisions.
  • Licensing, permits, or government-program eligibility.
  • Any other use regulated by the FCRA.

Sites Operated by Others

Links may lead to Sheriff and corrections pages, court portals, legal-aid resources, release records, federal locators, or outside search services. A link is not an endorsement. We do not control a destination’s content, privacy practices, data handling, prices, or availability, so review its own terms before using it.

Information Provided As Is

The site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise:

  • That content is accurate, complete, or current.
  • That access will always be uninterrupted.
  • That the site is free from errors, bugs, or security weaknesses.
  • That an outside search provider will return a complete result.

Custody status and public records can change quickly. Nothing on this site is an official statement by the Catawba County Sheriff, DAC, a court, or another government office.

Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, the site and its operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages arising from access to, reliance on, or inability to use the site or any linked service.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees resulting from your use of the site or your breach of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless a source is identified otherwise, the site’s text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Catawba County Released Inmates or its content partners. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or republish those materials without written permission.

Revisions to These Terms

We may revise these Terms & Conditions at any time. An updated version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

Suspension of Access

We may restrict or end access to some or all of the site at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

North Carolina Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in North Carolina. Public records held by North Carolina offices remain governed by Chapter 132 and other applicable state law, not by these private-site terms.

Severability

If a court finds one term invalid or unenforceable, that term will be adjusted only as far as needed, and the remaining terms will continue in effect.
